Lanz tractors were built in Manheim in Germany from 1921 up until approximately 1960. With one or two exceptions, all models had single cylinder, horizontal, two-stroke engines. In 1956 John Deere took over the company and the old Lanz factory is now their European manufacturing base.

This information is stamped on the manufacturer's plate which is riveted to the engine block on the right hand side. If not visible I can suggest other places to look.

• Engine Horsepower or HP (German - PS)
• Year (German - Baujahr)

Please only provide the year of manufacture if it is stamped on the plate or if original delivery documents are held.  Do not guess!  If the year is unknown I will estimate it for you.
